It has been a long hiatus since my last post due to external matters such as the transition to graduate school. I have, in that time, managed to complete an ECG Analog Front End that is graciously hosted by Dr. Kovic over at the Open ECG Project Website. A write up of that project will be done as soon as I can find the time for it along with the brief bouts of work done on the long overdue Audio Spectrum Analyzer.
Note: I currently do not have any ECG Analog Front End Modules for sale since high demand has exhausted all the extras that I have made. More functional modules may be made in late December but that remains to be seen depending upon time availability and willpower. However, I do have bare boards for the engineers out there that have a bit of patience and can handle SMT.

What was stated in the previous update about summer being the busiest semester pales in comparison to this Fall semester's load. Getting that poor excuse out of the way... I have been working on the second version of the Audio Spectrum Analyzer and the second version of the Audio Meter. Both of these projects are coming close to completion, in a sort of round about way, with the Audio Meter being first in line to be presented during December.

This summer was probably my busiest one by far because of school, research, an intership, volunteering, and applying to graduate school. Despite all of this, I made sure to set some time aside to write a tutorial on a relatively simple method of designing mod-n counters that I had learned during my freshman year in college.
In other news... I have recently purchased an oscilloscope that will help me in designing/trouble-shooting more complex projects - particularly those that have a large analog section. Some of the specs include USB interface, 60MHz front-end bandwidth, 400M samples/sec, and 8-bit resolution <- Laugh all you want but my wallet thanks me.

Hmmm, I guess me hoping to have finished a write up for another project was in vain because doing something else besides school work makes me feel guilty. Don't worry, the feeling of guilt should subside in a few weeks once habituation kicks in. =p

The first project is finally up for reading here. Hopefully I will get another one finished in the beginning of next month since I am still behind.
