Name: Portable Multi-channel Audio Spectrum Analyzer
Stage: Working on version 2
Description: Inspired by my organic chemistry lab partner's in-car audio spectrum analyzer, I decided to design and build a portable one myself to be an accessory for my mp3 player. Due to the fact that spectrum analysis will be done in real time, the number of channels that this unit is slated to display will greatly depend upon a number of timing factors such as LCD communication, filter stabilization, and ADC data acquisition. As such, this project will require some "playing around" with the balancing act between complexity, size, and power.
Note: Version 2 will be smaller, cheaper, less complex (in hardware), and offer more features than what was achieved in version 1.

Name: Audio Level Meter Version 2
Stage: Populating Final PCB and Making Optimizations
Description: The main driving force behind this project is to learn how to design PCBs so that other projects, such as the AECG, could be completed in a more polished form. The audio level meter project was chosen because of its simplicity and interest generated by the readers. By following this path, it is my hope that the construction phase of future projects for this website will be much faster because half the time spent on a project is for construction (as hinted by the audio spectrum analyzer -.- ).

Name: Portable Phono Electrocardiogram (PECG)
Stage: Prototyping
Description: The measurement of biopotential, that is generated by the nervous system of the human body, provides for a nice progressive step in both the realms of electrical and neural engineering. Exploration into this relatively new biopotential monitoring has resulted in many applications in the medical field and thus is justified as being a worthwhile endevour for the biomedical engineer. The proposed end product's specifications will mainly revolve around the aspects of safety, portability, longevitivty, and simplicity.
