While taking Introduction to Biology Laboratory at the time of designing this project, I found that the commonly used petri dish can serve as an excellent enclosure for this project. Since the petri dishes that I used were inexpensive, I went ahead and purchased multiple units for use in later projects.

The Template and Enclosure for the Circuit Board
The hardest portion of this project would be cutting and fitting the circuit board to its petri dish enclosure. Due to the easily scratchable surface of the petri dish, more than one petri dish was used for this project - one was used as a template for fitting and the other for the final product.

An adapter for the operational amplifier was needed because the only packaging available was the SMT format. Since the pitch between the pins was found to be 0.65mm, soldering individual pins would have been very difficult. Instead, the addition of flux was used to guide the solder, under the application of heat, to the contact pads of the adapter and the pins of the chip.
