Breadboarding
Prototyping the design, especially analog circuitry, is often recommended because there may be contributing factors that could otherwise upset a perfectly sound circuit (no pun intended). In this instance, since the breadboard will exhibit a larger amount of parasitics than the layout of the final product, most of the time, prototyping can be seen as testing the worst case scenario for layout.
