Bill of Materials
The prices for each table entry reflects the the amount per unit multiplied by the number of units needed. In the instance where components can only be sold in multiples greater than one, the entire package price is divided by the number of units per package and then multiplied by the number of units needed. Note that part numbers for each entry are taken from the reseller's website and not the manufacturer.
The amount indicated at the bottom of the materials list does not include tax, shipping, and other miscellaneous costs such as electricity. In addition, the prices given by the table will change based on market conditions - most likely higher >_<.

If one were to total the cost of the table above, the approximate cost the project would come out to be $30.28.
Layout
Determining the best layout for the chips on the board involved a "trial and error" based approach by inspecting how much routing was to be involved for each possible made up configuration.
