Seconds and Minutes
A new soldering iron afterword yielded a few intense wiring sessions that ranged from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Keeping track of what was wired came about by making a mark on each stage's respective schematic diagram. In addition, it was quite useful to write down which pin each wire connected to for the purpose of trouble-shooting a mis-wiring since it was very easy to mess up and become lost.
